The Baby and Toddler Experience has specifically designed classes for you and your baby or toddler to learn from and enjoy. The Baby and Toddler Experience is designed for babies from birth up to approximately 3 years old.
Location - kings church, 12 steyne road (opposite the wellington pub), seaford, East Sussex, bn25 1wf (free parking nearby)
Tuesdays
11am-12pm - Mixed ages (Birth-3 years)
12.30pm-1.30pm - Babies (Birth-Confident walkers)
Wednesdays
9.30am-10.30am - Mixed ages (Birth-3 years)
11am-12pm - Mixed ages (Birth-3 years)

The Baby & Toddler Experience has been created to meet the demand for quality baby/toddler classes in our local area. We want classes to be somewhere parents can come with their child, and enjoy the experience as their child develops and learns through fun, stimulating activities and experiences that they will love. All classes contain a variety of structured activities as well as quality free play, creating that perfect balance between adult-led and child-initiated play. This creates an experience your child will thrive on.
You can book a class in the 'book a class' section of the website. Sibling discount available. Classes run during term time, with special one off classes throughout the year at Easter, Halloween and Christmas. You can join the classes at any point during the year. Each class also contains an activity idea for you to try at home - from glittery foam, to pat mats and sensory trays - we want to inspire you to utilise the items you may have at home already to stimulate further learning and development for your baby or toddler. We have created a private Facebook group to share play ideas and sensory fun; find it here. Feel free to join!
We have an information table at each class, with leaflets of other local businesses, and the opportunity to purchase some of the resources you will be experiencing in class to enable you to continue the learning at home.
We also use Makaton within our classes - and focus on three different signs per week in order to help build on your repertoire of signs. Signing has a huge benefit for you and your baby - it helps aid communication (babies that sign often talk before those that do not), reduce frustration, improve concentration levels and adds to the parent and child bond. If reinforced regularly at home, your baby will sign to you before they are able to form recognisable words. The first time they sign is such a wonderful moment for any parent, it really makes you feel proud that you have taught them something, they understand what it means and they are able to tell you what they see, feel or want just by doing an action. Its truly magical.

Classes run in line with school terms, usually 6-7 week blocks. All classes are £7.50 (£11 for 2 siblings) and must be booked and paid for in advance.

I have always had a passion to work with young children, and after gaining a qualification in child development at school, I went on to gain a level 3 in Nursery Nursing at college.
I then owned my own childcare business operating and sold the business when I was 23, to become an Early Years inspector with Ofsted, registering and inspecting childminders, nurseries and pre-schools all around the region. We had twins in 2008 and I also registered as a childminder to meet my personal need to plan and provide an extensive range of activities for young children, and see them progress as a direct result of the time they spent with me. I loved it!
In 2012 we had our third baby. It was then I started attending baby classes, and soon progressed into running them as a class leader for a local franchisee. I loved every moment. It ended much sooner than I had hoped when the franchise area split; and just a few months before my career breaks post maternity leave was due to finish. I didn't want to go back to 'work, work' so I embraced the opportunity, and resigned as an inspector to set up 'The Baby and Toddler Experience'.
Founded in 2014, the business has gone from strength to strength. Classes are busy, and we have established a great customer base in our local area. Introduction of regular children's nearly new sales, messy play sessions and our investment in soft play equipment to hire out for parties, have all helped to get our name and brand out there. Our youngest started school in September 2017, so we branched out to venues further afield in Peacehaven and Saltdean. The long term goal is to franchise the business, so please do get in touch if this is of interest to you.
I want to use my wealth of experience to benefit you and your little ones to help give them the best possible start in life. It's lovely to see how they change each week - how they respond to resources, when they start clapping, waving, rolling, moving, responding to things and talking!! UPDATE
In March 2018 I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I took 18 months off to have treatment and recover. Classes resumed in September 2019 and I took on a glamorous assistant to help me with the role. Classes went from strength-to-strength. Then Covid hit. Classes stopped for 18 months until it was safe to re-open.
In the meantime, my husband and I set up a charity - Wolo Foundation, helping families in Sussex affected by cancer. There is little help out there for families on their cancer journeys, and as a result the charity is extremely busy.
I have therefore made the decision to move on from The Baby and Toddler Experience and leave it in the capable hands of past attendees Sam Collins and Alice Buroni. Both have a wealth of early years/teaching experience, and are the perfect pair to take it on. They are very excited about the future of classes, and I couldn’t be happier that the classes are continuing. The babies and toddlers of the local community are so lucky to have the them. I wish them the best of luck with it all. I’m still helping in an advisory role, and will always find the time to make a guest appearance at Christmas!

2021 Christmas Special classes!
Exciting news! Our Christmas special classes will be held in Seaford on Saturday 11/12/2021 at the Kings Church, 35 Steyne Road, Seaford, BN25 1HT. They are a great way to celebrate Christmas with your little one. All family members are welcome.
Tickets are £12 per child (adults free!) and include a wealth of festive activities to encourage your child's learning, lots of fun and a gift for your child. Siblings (including those over 4 years) are welcome, siblings are £5 each which includes a gift. Fancy dress is optional but encouraged! There will be a class at 9.30am for toddlers, 11am for babies (birth to walking) and a mixed class (babies and toddlers) at both 1pm and 2.30pm - perfect for those of you who want to come as a group or with older/younger siblings. A 4pm class will be added if demand allows. We expect the classes to be very popular so please book early to avoid disappointment.
The family cafe will be open all day within the venue - serving a variety of hot/cold drinks and lovely homemade cakes and festive treats. Local photographer Matthew Bode will be setting up a seasonal photo studio/family photo opportunity in the hall, with any pictures available to purchase separately through him on the day (no obligation!). This has been very successful in past years.
Classes are open to existing and new customers. Please fill in the booking form or contact us via e mail or Facebook. Space is allocated on a first come, first served basis. We will send payment details once your space has been confirmed by us. There is street parking available along the seafront and surrounding roads which is free, and there are also a few pay and display car parks in the town. Please share the event with anyone you think may be interested!

Children's Nearly New Sale!
After the success of our last sales, we are hosting another! Its a children's nearly new sale at the Clinton Centre in Seaford (next to Tesco Express) from 10am-12pm on Saturday 10th March 2018. This sale is not just for baby items, clothes and toys for older children are also encouraged - as is the involvement of older children with taking money, working our change etc - please contact us for more information.
Its a table top sale - tables are priced at £15 and you keep all of the profit you make on the day.
All items relating to children can be sold - maternity equipment, clothes, toys, accessories etc.

Messy Play classes!
After the huge success of our first messy play class, we are now making them a regular occurrence! Primarily aimed for babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers (although older siblings are welcome too - they'll definitely enjoy the fun!) .
I set up a variety of trays with lots of exciting things to explore inside. Please wear clothes you don't mind getting messy; and help to ignite all of their senses by visiting all of the trays and resources available.
The next session date is TBC (hopefully March/April). Each class will run 10-11am from the Clinton Centre in Seaford (our usual venue). The cost is £7.50 per class, and an additional set fee of £2.50 for any number of siblings.....so you can all 3/4 of your children for just £10.

Our venue is bright, warm and welcoming, with easy access and free parking on adjacent roads. It has excellent facilities and The Family Cafe is also on site, that is open on Tuesdays and Wednesdays - serving delicious snacks and home made cakes.
